AMENDMENT OF HIGH COURT RULES: HIGH COURT ACT, 1990

Under section 39(2) of the High Court Act, 1990 (Act No. 16 of 1990), read with rule 2(1) of the
High Court Rules of Namibia published under Government Notice No. 4 of 17 January 2014 with the
approval of the President, I have (a)

made the rules as set out in the Schedule; and

(b)

determined that the said rules come into operation on 1 January 2015.

SCHEDULE

1.

There is one administrative recess for the dispatch of any business of the court, including
criminal reviews, commencing on 10 December in each year and ending on 15 January the
following year, inclusive of both dates, subject to paragraph 2.

2.

There are seven administrative breaks in every year as set out in paragraph 4.
