INCREMENT OF REMUNERATION OF MAGISTRATES: MAGISTRATES ACT, 2003
Under section 18(2) of the Magistrates Act, 2003 (Act No. 3 of 2003), on recommendation of the
Magistrates Commission and with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, I (a)

increase the annual basic salaries and housing allowances of magistrates as set out in Schedule A for the 2016/2017 financial year with effect from 1 April 2016;

(b)

increase the annual basic salaries and car allowances of magistrates as set out in Schedule B
with effect from 1 April 2017; and

(c)

withdraw Government Notice No. 96 of 16 May 2016.
